Important Update: How to Protect Your LinkedIn Data from AI Training

October 22, 2024

Recently, LinkedIn announced that it would start collecting user data to train its AI systems. You might have missed this news, so we wanted to make sure you’re informed and know how to opt out if you choose.

At Conspired Minds, we believe that privacy should be a priority, and users must be fully aware of how their data is being used. Consent isn’t optional; it’s essential. Before any company repurposes your personal data, they should obtain clear permission from you.

From my years of experience in the tech industry, one thing is clear: responsible AI needs transparency and consent. Without these, we’re on a dangerous path.

If you share our view, take a stand and opt out of LinkedIn’s data collection for AI training. Here’s how:

  1. Go to LinkedIn and head to your “Settings.”
  2. Select “Data Privacy.”
  3. Find “Data for Generative AI Improvement.”
  4. Toggle the setting to “Off” to opt out.

Why This Matters:

LinkedIn isn’t applying the same rules to everyone. Users in the European Union benefit from stricter data protection laws that prevent automatic enrollment. However, here in the U.S., LinkedIn is taking advantage of legal loopholes, which means that without action, your data could be used without your explicit consent.

Just because LinkedIn is free doesn’t mean they have the right to use your personal information for AI training.

Take control of your data. Click below or follow the steps to opt out:

Let’s make sure our voices are heard and protect our digital privacy. Please share this with anyone who values their data privacy.

In solidarity,

Chris Cameron
